1883

First meeting in the Polytechnic School of Lisbon for discussing the foundation of the Lisbon Zoologic Garden. The first zoo headquarter was established in the Parque de Santa Gertudes at São Sebastião da Pedreira - current garden and headquarters of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
